The Word on Wednesday...

Proverbs 31:28-29- "Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.'" I know this is exactly the way my dad feels about my mom, because I have heard him say (and sing) it. I've never seen a man so in love with his wife!

Psalm 37:26- "They [mothers] are always generous and lend freely; their children will be blessed." This verse is especially personal to me, because it describes my mom to a tee! I have a very humble mother, who never seeks public recognition, but definitely deserves it. She is the most giving, caring, drop whatever she's doing, generous mother I know. And, I'm not just saying that because she's my mom. She has blessed me more than I can put into words, not only financially but spiritually, emotionally, and physically. She has especially blessed me lately; right when I think she has outdone herself, she does more. That is just the kind of mom she is. I hope, pray and desire to be even half the woman, wife and mother that she is. She will do anything for her daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren. I know that I speak for all of us when I say that she is such a huge blessing in our lives. Thank you, Mom and we love you!

This poem is dedicated to all of the mothers and mothers-to-be in my life. (Especially my own!)

M is for the Million ways she has sacrificed for me
O is for Our family, and the way she holds us together
T is for the Tears she has shed while praying for me
H is for a Heart after Christ
E is for her Eyes, with love shining through
R is for Righteous, and righteous she will always be

Put them all together and they spell "Mother" a word that means the world to me.

Proverbs 31 is a hefty chapter to live up to, isn't it? But such a sweet challenge it is to do so! This is a great post and perfect for Mother's Day! I'm sure you didn't have that in mind while writing it, did you? *wink*
