The Word on Wednesday...

"Pray in the Spirit at all times with all kinds of prayers, asking for everything you need. To do this you must always be ready and never give up. ALWAYS PRAY FOR ALL GOD'S PEOPLE." (Emphasis mine) Ephesians 6:18

Do you ever do like the man in the cartoon above? Someone comes to you with a problem, you tell them you will be praying for them, and then never think about it again (until the next time you see them.) I will admit, I have been guilty of this. Matthew 18:20 says, "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." I believe in the power of prayer! God desires for us and even commands us to pray for each other. How sad is it that we get so caught up in our own lives, looking out for #1, that we actually forget to pray for our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ?! If someone comes to me for prayer, I want them to know that I WILL be praying for them. After all, I may need the favor returned. I want to be known as a true prayer warrior, never ceasing to pray. Don't you?

Another awesome post!! You are so good at reminding us of these things in such an amazing way. Your word on Wednesdays are so easy to read and relate to! I too am guilty of this. I know that some times when I pray, I tend to overlook or forget about some of the people that I need to be saying a special prayer for. This post has reminded me to make an extra effort!! Thanks

Great post! I have been guilty of this before, but it is something that I have REALLY been working on. I have to write things down to remember, so I've been using my prayer journal a lot lately. Thanks for the wonderful words of wisdom. :)

This is great Amy! I have actually been thinking of starting a journal so I can keep track of people's prayer requests. Sometimes it's me just being forgetful, but sometimes it's me putting things off. Thanks for the reminder :)

WOW! What a great post! I am guilty of this, but the way I try not to forget is by writting it down in my prayer journal. Then before I go to bed and when I wake up, I am able to look at each request. It also helps me to remember through out the day too!

So true. And I think many do that. But to actually go to him with circumstances and heartfelt passion about request, I think is as important as the act itself.
Amy, I love reading your blog!!
