Canoe Trip!

This weekend Zack and I went with my sister, Christa, brother-in-law, Tommy and nephew, Paxton on a canoe/camping trip. We had an absolute blast! We canoed several hours Saturday, camped at a great spot right above the river, canoed a few hours Sunday, took a hike and saw some beautiful water falls and returned home at 4:00p.m. There were several fun rapids (nothing scary), and neither canoe tipped the whole trip! I won't ramble on and on about how beautiful the scenery was, how relaxing the river was and what fun we had. Just look at the pictures and see for yourself...

Loading the canoes...

Christa, Tommy and Paxton off to a good start!

My Personal Tour Guide...
Zack is an awesome at canoeing! He just told me when, where and which side to paddle on and he did the rest. We made a great team! I just sat back and relaxed until he said, "Paddle left, paddle left. Stop. Paddle right. Hard right. Good job!"

...another gorgeous view

Operation Rescue!
This lady tipped her kayak and got caught in some brush sticking out of the water in the middle of some rapids. We were right behind her and couldn't stop, but we managed to grab her paddle.

Zack pulled our canoe onto the bank close by and wadded barefoot through the current to retrieve her kayak. What a man!

I cannot emphasize enough how beautiful it was!

(This picture is for you, Jessica:)
We saw probably close to 20 groups of turtle's throughout our trip!

...stopping to camp

...the view from our camp site

There was a horse trail next to our camp site...

Paxton enjoyed catching crawdads!

Tommy and Christa enjoying the fire...

Me and my honey!

A camping trip isn't complete without smores. Mmmm!

Ready to roll! It was soooo cold on Sunday morning!

The Roy family working hard!

Sunday afternoon, we stopped and went hiking to check out some beautiful scenery.

Hemmed-In-Hollow Falls

Paxton swung on every tree branch he could find...

Outback Zack

This one's for you, Drew!

I missed Zayde, but really enjoyed myself. I had 3 whole meals without interruption! Our wonderful friends, The Selvey's, kept Zayde and said that he was PERFECT! Thank you Patrick and Kelli!!

AWESOME!!!! SI want to take that trip...so many questions.... send me an email, if you will with answers. Its on my profile.

1.where was this? State, city, river?
2. Did you rent canoes or take your own? If rent from hwo, cost per day? Did they pick up down river or did you paddle back to rental?
3.how did you know where the beautiful trials would be, take a chance, been there before, or have a map?
I am planning my next trip!
FUN!

Glad to hear you guys all had a good time. That place is so beautiful it looked like it was the perfect weekend for an outing. Is that the Glory Hole? Glad Zayde made it just fine. Sometimes you need to just get away & hang out with the hubby. And I know that Zack loves the out doors. K.Barnes

That looks like so much fun. I can't wait we are going in May for our Birthdays. So did you not flip??? Jerrame thinks that is the most fun. I always vote for rafts.

Oh, that looks like so much fun! Our first anniversary is coming up and the only thing my hubby will tell me about it is that we're staying somewhere in the mountains of Arkansas. I hope canoeing is in my future! I thought it might be scary, but after looking at your pictures, it looks like a blast! I'm so glad y'all had a good time! Thanks for sharing!

**Oh, and I love Zack's hat! Really! He looks like a real outdoorsman! And so chivalrous!

HEY - I know Tommy Roy!!!!! (if he's the same one I'm thinking of......it's been about 10 years since I've seen him). His older sister, Allyson, was my little sis in our sorority in college!
