Dentist, ENT & Probably another ear infection...

We've had an eventful past week. Last week, Zayde fell into the coffee table and bumped his mouth and knocked a tooth loose and foward about 1mm. Thankfully, God was watching over him, and when we took him to the dentist, they said that it should tighten up on its own and be fine. Thank you, Lord for taking care of my baby. When I told my dad that he fell and bumped his tooth, he guessed that the coffee table had a part in it. He cannot stand coffee tables! (When I was about 3-4, I got pushed into our coffee table and cut my head open to the bone right above my eye. The scar still gives me problems today when I get my eyebrows waxed. Ha!Ha! Needless to say, our family never had a coffee table again.) I wouldn't have ours, but it is the only table that is low enough and long enough to fit 4-5 kids around it to eat, do work, color, etc.

Friday, I took Zayde to the ENT (ear, nose and throat doctor.) The doctor was in the room for 5 minutes, took one look in Zayde's ears and said that he needed tubes put in. He said that there was really thick fluid in his ears that looked like it had been there for a while, and his tubes were immature. I figured as much; so on April 25th, the day after my birthday, we'll be at the surgery center getting tubes put in. Once again, the Lord has been protecting my baby. In most cases where a child has had thick fluid in their ears and as many ear infections as Zayde has had, there would be some hearing problems. Zayde took a hearing test and did really well, so there are no concerns there!

Today we were supposed to go back to the dentist to check on his tooth and make sure it is continuing to grow properly and tightening up. I had to cancel that appointment and make one for his pediatrician, because over the weekend Zayde developed a really wet cough, green/yellow drainage, a rash on his belly and pulling at his ears more than usual. He woke up this morning feeling REALLY bad and on a rampage! I'm sure I already know the diagnosis, but I'm trying to be optimistic, so I'm not going to speak anything negative. We'll see...

I would appreciate your prayers:
*that his tooth is okay, since we're not going back to the dentist. With my preschool, I have to make late afternoon appointments and the parents have to pick their kids up early. Obviously, I can't do this too often.
*that God will guide the doctor's hands during his ear surgery, and everything will go well.
*that he gets better soon with the crud that he has now.

Thank you so much! ... and because no post is complete without pictures:

Zayde's First Visit to the Dentist...
(It was the neatest office, decorated in an aquatic theme!)

Zayde and Dr. Will

If you look really close at the two little white teeth on bottom, you can see that the left one is pushed forward a little bit.

Okay, first off...what a FUN dentist!! Poor Zayde, I am so sorry he has had such a rough week. Tayson has been sick this week with the "crud" too. I took him to the doctor Wednesday and she said that it is just going around and gave us some antibiotics! I will pray hard for Zayde's surgery. I will defintely pray for you too. Tayson had a big surgery in September in Joplin and I was such a nervous wreck!! You guys are in my thoughts and prayers!!!

Cute dentist office!! Koy had tubes in his ears when he was 16 months old and he has not had one ear infection since then. His tubes have fallen out now, so I am just praying that he will not get more infections and have to have a second set of tubes. So far, so good!

Well as you know, Jordan had tubes at 10months, so I feel you girl--but trust me, life after tubes, is like so wonderful. Jordan has still had a couple of ear infections even with them, so I can't imagine if she didn't have them. I was hysterical thinking about the surgery, so I will be praying for you--it's hard, but it's SOOO quick....Literally, Jordan was back for 5 minutes before they came to tell us it was over--so thankful! I will pray hard that everything goes smoothly and that mama does well too! It's miserable to see them in so much pain--the tubes will help so much!

I'm so sorry that Zayde has been so sick! The tubes will work wonders. Ethan had them put in when he was 1 1/2 and didn't have another ear infection until he was 5! Not to say that will be the same with everyone,but...
I will keep ya'll in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us updated. :)

Poor Zayde :( Darn those coffee tables!! He's a trooper, though, to deal with the dentist and tubes all at once! I'll be praying for him!

Poor little guy! I will pray that the surgery goes well, and that his little tooth is ok! My neighbor's little boy had his top tooth knocked out (the first time they left him to go on a date)when he was 1 and a half. It's still missing, but it makes him even more adorable! Zayde will be the cutest thing no matter what!

I want to go to that dentist! how cool is he? Zayde is so cute and I am sure he will work through all of this and be just fine. I will pray for you and Zayde today. My kids never had to have tubes, but I know it is a common procedure. Thank God his hearing is just fine.

So sad that Zaydee is having a rough week....but that dentist is like going to the park! How cool. I want him to be my dentist!
I could see his tooth pushed forward a bit.
Tubes...had em with Bama. Bama actually could not hear. I went to the pediatrian 3 times, did hearing test and they said, "He's 4 (at the time) He dosnt want to hear what you are saying". But my child has never been one not to listen to me. I knew. I went to the ENT and he said, "He cant hear. Fluid is like glue by his drum. Tubes-and never another problem with his hearing or ears/ Glod bless...and he will bless Zaydee to. Thinking about ya'll!

I'm so sorry Zayde had to go thru all that. But on a good note, the dentist office sure looks like fun! I don't like going to the dentist but this place would make anyone enjoy it! Very cool for Zayde!

My daughter has had 4 ear infections this year.........from August to January. If she gets another then the doctor suggests doing tubes too. We have been blessed that so far no more infections!
