The Word on Wednesday...

Luke 15:2- "But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with them."

1 Corinthians 13:13- "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

Have you ever been to an unwelcoming church? It is extremely uncomfortable, isn't it? Did you go back?

It is so sad that many churches and Christians are caught up in "works", appearances, etc. that they forget God's words- "love others as you love yourself... but the greatest of these is love... but if I have not love, I am nothing..." The next time you see a visitor at your church, show them the most important part of being in a body of Christ- loving others!

P.S. The Martin's sat beside the new couple and welcomed them to the church and loved on them.

Those cartoons are too cute! Yes, we have visited some churches where you don't feel very welcomed. But, we have also visited many where we felt VERY welcomed. About a year ago we visited a church and it was are very first visit and we were greeted by so many sweet people. I think we were there visiting for about 30 min. after church services and then a sweet older couple invited us to lunch with them and they even paid for our lunch. That was such a treat and surprise!
