Throwback Thursday...

I know that everyone always says that they have the best parents in the world. Well, I am very sorry to disappoint all of you, but I seriously do have the best parents!

These are my all-time FAVORITE pictures!
My dad has always been my hero. He is such a wise, Godly, giving man. He would sacrifice and do anything for his family. He is an amazing father and husband. I will never forget growing up and listening to him sing silly made-up love songs to my mom on Sunday mornings, riding on his back pretending he was a horse, waking up to him singing on a karaoke machine one Christmas morning, skiing between his legs while learning to ski (who needs ski school?), and his dedication to taking his family to church EVERY Sunday. My dad has always shown unconditional love and acceptance my entire life no matter what. I know that he has made many sacrifices throughout the years to provide for his family and give us the best. There are not words to describe how much I appreciate, respect and love my dad.

I will never forget our father-daughter dance on my wedding day. It was so very special to me. My dad was so wonderful and supportive that I was getting married at the age of barely 19 (despite what I'm sure he was really thinking about it.)

This is a picture of my mom when she was a little girl, wearing a dress that her mother made...

...and this is a picture of me as a little girl wearing the same dress!

My mom is such an incredible woman of faith, dedication and wisdom. I have always looked up to my mom, wishing that I was more like her in so many ways. She is so very talented, smart, giving, and kind. My mom has always been there for me through every trial I have ever gone through. She always has just the right words of encouragement, wisdom and comfort. I will never forget growing up and watching her sew, listening to her play the piano, having her at home instead of working and sending me to daycare. When I was sick or sad, she always knew how to make me feel better by rubbing my head and scratching my back. My mom has made many sacrifices of time, energy and money to give us the best. My mom is my inspiration as a teacher, wife, mother and woman. I look up to her and love her more than words can say.

Thank you dad and mom for EVERYTHING!

Thats a wonderful tribute to your parents Amy. Not all children have someone in their lives that is always encouragement to help them as they grow up. This is always what every parent wants to hear after the years of growing up are behind you. Weather the parent does a good job or bad job at being a parent the cycle is carried on thru the children of how they will raise their children...even more reason to do a good job. A parents life shapes the life of generations to come.

Wow, I just checked out the blog and my eyes are full of tears...tears of joy...tears of thanks to God...tears of the knowledge in knowing what my children are getting ready to experience. My continued prayers are that my girls, as mothers, can depend on God's guidance and unfailing love to help them as He has helped me. Being a parent is NOT easy, but so worth the rewards! Thank you, Amy, for your kind words. Love, Mom

I'm speechless....Amy, thank you for the kind words. I certainly have not been a perfect parent, but, I believe my daughters have always known my love for them. Through many prayers all of my daughters have grown into the kind of young women that I always thought possible. I love my children immensely and would not trade my experiences of raising them for anything. Amy, I appreicate your words.
Love you, dad.
(note- I got over the speechless problem)
