My Prince is Turning One!

One week from today is Zayde's 1st birthday. I absolutely cannot believe it- it does not seem possible. I am excited, because this is a big milestone birthday, but also somewhat sad, because he is growing up so fast. A one year old is considered to be a toddler, but I'm not ready to let my baby go! Thus far, parenting has pretty much been a breeze (except for the whole sleep thing)- it's just been playing, laughing, and having fun. All too soon, the real parenting is going to have to start- disciplining, spanking, teaching him lessons... Do you know how hard it's going to be to get my sweet baby in trouble? I mean, have you seen his beautiful big blue eyes?! I now know that my parents were not lying when they said, "This hurts me worse than it hurts you." Of course, we have not punished Zayde in any way, yet. But oh, the heartaches to come...

Well, enough of that. I just wanted to give you all a sneak preview of Zayde's birthday party stuff. The theme is 'Prince.'

These are the invitations that I made...
Front: (It is a little blurry because of the velum.)

Inside:

This throne seat was borrowed from my friend, Mandy. Thank you, Mandy!

After looking at several crowns online, I decided to make one myself! Everything to make it was purchased from Hobby Lobby.

My Prince!

"Yea!!"

Sweetness...

I would love to start making and selling products for a side hobby, including (but not limited to) picture frames, princess/prince crowns, decorated wooden letters, invitations, thank you/birthday/etc. cards, stationary... So, if you like what you have seen, leave a comment and spread the word! Thank you!! (I plan to create a website and will post that information when I have it.)

You are just so creative! I love the crown you made! I think you definitely will be successful with doing this on the side! Very cute! Thanks for your comment on my blog! After I blogged about it, I thought, you know people may think that's not that big of a deal, but for Dustin and I we just know that it's a "God Thing" and are so incredibly grateful for every big and small blessing! I'm new to blogging, I'll have to add you to my friend list! :)

Hey Amy!! I was perusing your blog!! Your little boy is just adorable. I was excited to see your family, and read about what you guys have been up to. I would actually love to buy one of those adorable crowns for my little girl. I think this is a creative way to have your own business. I guess all those years of cheerleading creativity has paid off. Ha. Hope to hear from you soon. Tonette

I read your profile and MY husband is also a trim carpenter! There isn't much he can't do! I am so impressed with him!

Yeah. We were talking about it the other day. I think it would be a lot of fun. I don't know who all would come, but any would be great to me. I can get in touch with almost everyone. There are just a few I don't know how to though. I was thinking that we should have it somewhere we used to go like...Taco Place or something like that. Anyway, give me your email address too. Maybe between a few of us we can get it all figured out.
