"I prayed for this child, and the Lord answered my prayer and gave him to me. Now I give him back to the Lord. He will belong to the Lord all his life."
1 Samuel 1:27-28
Zayde will be one year old tomorrow! There have been many nights during this past year that I have just held Zayde, thanking the Lord for giving him to me and for trusting Zack and I to take care of HIS son. Children are a gift from God and motherhood is an amazing journey. I have been humbled, tested, and tried in many different ways than I have ever experienced before. But more than anything, I have been blessed beyond belief with the great responsibility of taking care of my Lord's son, who was graciously given to me to love for the rest of my time on this Earth. My son is truly the son of a HEAVENLY King! (and I am so thankful for that!)

That is the perfect verse for this birthday week! A true reminder that we are all Gods' children. He is so wonderful to bless us with our babies!!
Zayde's pictures are awesome!!!! He is so cute and your right what a wonderful gift they are, its easy in the daily craziness to forget that, thanks for reminding me.
You are a great mom, Amy, and I know you make our Heavenly Father proud!
What a great reminder. I am so thankful everyday for my niece and nephews, so I can't imagine what it's like to love your own child.
Loved the verse you picked out for this week. What a gift children are from the Lord... But you are right, they are truly His to begin with. Wow- when I think of it that way it makes me want to take extra special care of them... they are children of a King! ...and so are we!
