Zayde's First Camping Trip...

This weekend the McCash's and our family went to Lee's Creek (45 minutes South from Prairie Grove) for a one night camping trip. It was Zayde's first experience to camp primitively: no water, electricity, bathrooms, etc. We all had a great time swimming, fishing, cooking, playing games and hanging out. Zayde was such a "happy camper" as always when he's outside. We will definitely do it again soon!

The whole gang ready to go...

...setting up camp

Almost finished...

Tada!! David and Jessica had a nice 4 bedroom tent that we used. It was surprisingly easy to set up, too.

Zayde spent a lot of time in his pack-n-play. He really enjoyed hanging out in it, playing with his toys.

I picked up trash while the guys were putting together the tent. It was really sad how trashy other campers left the sites.

Hanging out on the bluffs at Lee's Creek.

David enjoyed jumping off the bluffs and swimming.

Zack enjoyed fishing in the creek.

Zayde enjoyed dipping his feet in the water.

Jessica and I enjoyed girl talk and taking lots of pictures.

Zayde and mommy enjoying God's nature.

After swimming and fishing at the creek, David and Zack made us a delicious campfire dinner. It included grilled chicken, fresh vegetables, corn-on-the-cob and biscuits. Mmmm!

Zack enjoying his dinner.

Doesn't it look delicious?

Zayde didn't get any grilled chicken or corn-on-the-cob, but he was just happy to be outside!

After dinner, we roasted marshmallows and made scrumptious smores. They were mouth watering!

We played a lot of games on our camping trip, including UNO, Youker, Clue and Boggle. Fun Times!!

Of course Zayde played, too! (with the Jokers and instruction cards)

Our home away from home...

We had such a good time that we hated to leave. We all considered quitting our jobs, moving to the woods and living off the land. Jessica and I decided that we just could not live without our showers and hairspray. So, it's back to the real world now!

Looks like you guys at least ate well while you were out, your tent looked amazing lots of room. I really want to see this place. You girls look great to be out there in the woods roughing it.

That already feels like a million miles away! We did look good considering the elements though- chiggers, dead deer, bleach water, and daddy-long-legs! You owe me one for all the daddy-long-legs I saved you from! : ) Love you!

Amy,

Thank you for your kind words. I admire you for being such an open book- you are the easiest girl to talk to ever! I never feel that you are judging me, and I love for that quality. I know you are right- I will change, and I know I will be a great mom. I just have hang-ups on being a great wife AND a super mom AND a knock-out teacher AND....AND... If I don't feel like I can do it well, I am fearful to jump out. Does that makse sense? But, again, you are right. Our world will incorporate our child, and we will never think twice. Thank you so much for praying and keeping me accountable. I couldn't ask for anyone else to be my prayer partner!! You are heaven sent.
